One of the best Halo-Halo I tried!

Image
Yummy dessert folks!!! Very thankful to Jerome and Anelyn for treating us to Razon's, a fine food chain along McKinley Hill in Taguig, I was able to try this delectable, oh-so-delicious halo-halo. An ultra different variety of halo-halo: finely crashed ice that looked like almost white sugar granules, very smooth! I must admit, I am not an avid fan of this refreshment because I hate the annoying coarse ice pieces stuffed along with the ingredients, not to mention the different kinds of beans I find very messy in my tongue, but the one at Razon's McKinley was totally different, quite an impression! I love the taste not too sweet nor creamy, just right with no exaggerated ingredients. This halo-halo has no blob of ice cream only leche flan but you've got to love it because of its distinct taste and appearance. For more info, read my review here

A Taste of Europe

Whenever I want to unwind and relax and “hide” from annoying people, one option I would always consider is to escape to a cafĂ© house. There, I would find peace of mind and serenity. The environment is so calm and cool. The quietness and homely atmosphere of a cafĂ© house made me feel so protected and pampered and I have plenty of time to think about myself, about what happened in a day and about contemplating what to do with my future. If I have my laptop with me, I would go to a cafĂ© house with a free wifi, my favourite destinations usually are Kangaroo, CafĂ© Demitasse or Yellow Hauz, these places are so quiet and away from the bustling city so I can explore what’s on my mind at the moment without intruders. But if I leave my laptop at home, I would just go to Euro CafĂ© in Gaisano Mall for a quick meal.   When I am at Euro Cafe, my favorite drink is always IRISH CAPUCCINO. I am not a regular coffee drinker but this one tastes so good I cannot resist the temptation!! I l

Eat and Stroll

Pesto, Baked Lasagna, Chicken wings in teriyaki sauce, French fries and blue cheese dressing at Wings and Dips Last Monday, December 12 , I and Kathy went out for a dinner at Wings and Dips along Mabini complex, it was my first time to dine at this place and quite impressed with its very relaxing ambiance. I love the warm environment, the sparkling lights and the beautiful frosty theme embellishment of the place. The foods were great too! California Maki at Sushi Dito Davao Kani Cheese Maki Gyoza! December 13 was another dinner outing with friends, we went to Sushi Dito, a cool Japanese restaurant along Quirino avenue. I love the Kani Cheese Marki! Hope to make a repeat visit there soon ^___^ After dinner, I and Juvy went to NCCC mall to, well, just stroll around hehe...We bought Christmas songs CDs at Music Zone. The huge Christmas Tree at NCCC mall Winter Wonderland  Then we indulged on picture taking against the sparkling Christmas decors. We

Tongue-Twisting European Foods

Image
Oh sweet life! I am always fascinated with European dishes not because of its distinct and unique taste but because of  its incomprehensible, tongue-twisting names, I am enthralled with the very complicated pronounciation (lol!). I wonder how the Pot au feu , C oq auvin  and kouign amann  would be accepted with my very oriental stomach . Well, just this morning, while searching for some ideas online with necessary information about putting up a party essential e-business, I came across with this delectable site of David Lebovits on living a sweet life in Paris (France) where he revealed so many tips on how to create scrumptious desserts, coolers and other yummy recipes, naaks!my hunger pangs suddenly strike and heaven! what's with those tongue-curling names of desserts? First, I read about his entry how to make ice cream gelato , a specialty from Italy, then I browsed his articles about savory dishes and mouth-watering desserts, haaaay, oh so yummy! Sweet ch

CREPELATO: Part II

Image
One blob of Mango Gelato at Crepelato Take two at Crepelato This time at Mayon branch, not far from Sampaguita Inn. While doing some important matters at work yesterday, Sheila asked me what's this Crepelato thing, so I told her this is a combination of crepe and Gelato, an Italian-style ice cream dessert, I bombarded her with all the yummy descriptions that she told me to visit the place one more time.  So minutes later, we agreed to go there in the afternoon right away, I told Kathy and Juvy about it and quickly agreed to join us, well when it comes to food, we are one soul, haha! We chose to go to Mayon branch because it is not crowded at night. After consuming Pasta con Malunggay (Sheila, Liezel and Juvy picked Native Chicken with Rice) we ordered one bowl of gelato in eight combinations sprinkled with graham bits, nuts and drizzled with tantalizing fruit syrup and whipping cream. Yum..yum!We ended the night with good conversation, sharing events during

CREPELATO: PART I

Image
What could be more refreshing than combining Crepe and Gelato? A perfect mouthwatering dessert! Non-fattening concoction. Crepe plus Gelato with cereals and other toppings drizzled with fruit syrup and whipping cream. This one plate costs P100.00 Gorging this unique Italian-style concoction is such a fantastic way to combat stress! So last night I had a great Crepelato moment with Kathy at NCCC mall branch. After our dinner---Mongolian Barbeque + Rice and Longanisa + Rice (also at Crepelato)---we moved to a couch and relaxed with one plate and another plate of Crepelato! I originally wanted Almond Banana Split topping but it was not available so I picked the mango float mixture and it tastes wonderful, I mean the ice cream is so different from the ordinary ice cream I tasted. Gelato is such a natural cooler, not sugary nor too creamy, and it is not easily melt even if you take it leisurely while busy talking to friends. Such a yummy dessert! The crepe float I and Kath

Don Beppe

Image
Last Wednesday night, I and Kathy had another pasta adventure at Don Beppe, an Italian resto  along Bonifacio street (walking distance from UIC), and ahem, we were impressed with the table arrangement (fine dining mode) and the very relaxing ambience of the place. We chose to sit in a four-seater table (there's no table-for-two available) and navigated the menu book. Hmmm...and I was silent for the next 10 seconds because the foods were so expensive, ranging from 200 to 500 pesos.yaaay! Penne Arrabiata. For people who detested the combination of tomato and chili stuff in pasta, this is not a good choice. One order costs P225.00 Puttanisca, Pizza and Penne Puttanisca So I ordered the cheapest pasta in the menu, Penne Arrabiata. I love Penne more when it is drizzled with white sauce but this recipe is somewhat strange because I didn't understand the taste.haha! When we got our orders, oh my!One plate is good for four people, darn...so I texted our friend

Annie Pie

Why I love to eat lots of foods lately? (but I am not gaining weight, haha!)Am I hiding something in my system?Hmmm...emptiness, perhaps?haaay, but I just want to eat and eat and eat and unwind and surf the net hehehe. After Lachi's adventure last Friday, yesterday afternoon, I and Kathy went to another Cafe, geeeez! This time to AnniePie, originally I wanted to go back to Cafe Demitasse to eat their soooo yummy creamy Carbonara and the unique Belgian fries but Kathy told me to try AnniePie's carbonara so we ended up going to Malvar. And ordered Carbonara and Tiramisu!hehehehehe... Well the pasta used this time is Fettuccine...I adored carbonara more if it is made from fettuccine and rich creamy white sauce (with Garlic bread perhaps)...and so we devoured one plate of creamy carbonara, though it was great, I loved Demitasse's carbo more...we were discussing business while eating but we never talked about life's clutters because I didn't want to spoil m

Panti Experience and Blueberry cheesecake

Image
Okay, the past week was not all cheery, there were days that I was annoyed with useless things not worthy in the end, oh well that's life, but towards the end of the week I had lots of laughter and well...amusement... My hunger pangs started kicking on Wednesday and so many foods appeared in my mind..hahaha!I shared this "food longing" to my friend Kathy...so we decided and agreed to go to Lachi's on Friday. Yessss finally Friday arrived...and by 5:40 pm we were sitting comfortably at Lachi's, actually it was my first time to be there (along Marfori Heights, just a few walk effort from Nanay Bebings). This is just a very small place, about eight tables only, but it is always filled with lots of customers that you must call for a reservation ahead of time. The foods are great! Blueberry Cheesecake!yummyyyy The smaller version of BlueBerry cheesecake that Kathy chose to order.hehehe I ordered Oriental Chicken with Rice because I am not comfo

Breezing at Abreeza!

Image
Resting... After squirming and heaving with the crowd during the opening of Abreeza mall yesterday, I thought I've had enough..haha!My feet and arms sored with terrible exhaustion... Abreeza Mall davao Oh geez! It was my first time to go to an opening day of a mall so I never had the faintest idea how terrible the environment will be, it feels like everybody in the neighborhood jam-packed to the area, we literally fidgeted in every corner of the mall, banging to one another and laughing at our silliness. When we entered the entrance area, I know what we will going to undergo inside - jiggling with the crowd - and alas! I felt the urge to pee, darn!So the first thing we asked at the reception area was the comfort room and I thought it was only at the entrance area where we have to bear several minutes standing in the long queue, the lavatory is no exemption after all. Toinkz! While going to the Levi's boutique, we wondered why people heaved on the front door, so we

At Kangaroo Again :-)

A breathing space... At last I can move comfortably in the office. The intensity of work load during summer is not as heavy as that of the semesters', the office hour kicks at 8:00 in the morning so I will not be compelled to wake up as early as 6:00, I still have plenty of minutes to prepare.hehe! Completely caught off guard..haha!photo courtesy of Yam Limbaga :-) with Juvy   The final months of this school year thoroughly depleted all the energy and patience I saved, plummeting my already disillusioned system. I am reconsidering of taking an exodus. It’s so intensely difficult to pretend that everything is fine with my pulse when deep inside I am ready to crumble with fury and anguish. The hidden animosity finally flared up and nailed further my discomfort. But after my resentment subsided (five hours ago), I realized that if I will tolerate my impulsiveness it will bring me further to nowhere, considering disillusioned workers in other companies and

Cafe Shops in Davao

Today is Araw ng Dabaw But how the celebration look s like? My answer is--- I don't know.lol! Since living in the city for almost 18 years now, there were only few occasions that I went to the street and joined the crowd watching float parade and other activities. It's a little pretty boring thing watching throngs of people going everywhere in the city, so I chose to stay in the boarding house than be melted under the scourging heat of the sun. This year, nothing has change. No difference from the previous years, but with a little upgrading..haha! Walking through the maze of people under the pouring rain and with a malfunctioned umbrella, I went straight to the Central bank to join my classmates (going to Kangaroo). We arrived at Kangaroo Coffee shop at exactly 10:00 then poured writing our Marketing Plan right away, we divided the tasks so that we can finish it faster. There, I find peace of mind while pondering what to write on the business plan. It was a

CAFE HOPPING

Image
Since February this year, I and Kathy hold our business meet-up at a cozy place where we could discuss the ideas and details of the project in the presence of technology and foods!(lol), so we had chosen best cafes in the city offering European dishes : Fagioli along Quirino, Chiccos di Caffe at Roxas Street and CafĂ© dimetasse along Torres . While brainstorming, our stomach enjoyed Italian and French delight pumping so much energy to mind. Chiccos served delicious and fantastic Italian coffee beverages and foods, Cafe Dimetasse served mostly French concoctions. Dimetasse by the way is a French word means a small cup of coffee or espresso. Fagioli's foods are mixture of French and Italian dishes.  Garlic bread at Chiccos (image from the official site of chiccos di caffe) Panini at Chiccos (image from Chicco di Caffe website) At Fagioli, I didn’t eat anything because I had already taken my dinner when we gone there but when we agreed to meet at Chiccos that’s when t
