ROSWELL and LEGEND OF THE SEEKER!

Okay. I am a bit silly now adays haha! Why on earth my appetite in watching TV series cannot be stopped? Sooooo totally hooked with ROSWELL and LEGEND OF THE SEEKER! These series are really awesome and inspiring. My obsession towards ROSWELL started in 2000, that was 13 years ago, I never thought my teenage fascination towards cute teen flicks is still there but when I re-watched it, yeaaaah it feels like I am in my late teens again hahaha! Or maybe I never stopped dreaming someone like MAX EVANS to sweep off my feet :-D So why I am so obsessed with Roswell?  Max Evans is so blindingly handsome and gorgeous. His devotion to Liz is soooooooo sweet and awesome! I dreamed to meet someone like Max Evans hahaha! The story of Roswell is so fantastic and entertaining. Yeahhh truly inspiring, the love story of Max and Liz is something I always dreamed of! I am always fascinated with the star-crossed lovers theme. The thrill of watching science fiction flick is mixed with

My Favorite Movies

Image
I am a big movie buff! Though my favorite genres are fantasy adventure, horror and science fiction under the backdrop of romance, I can adjust my appetite in films depending on the plot and concept, comedy, animated and mainstream drama also delight me.  There are three technical merits I often look in a film to satisfy my cravings: screenplay, cinematography and production design. In the span of two decades, I'd already watched more than 100 movies, some are boring and annoying  (I wondered why they made it into a motion picture in the first place) others are really good and worth recommending.  Although there are really beautiful movies out there which have been consistently included in the list of Greatest Movies of all time surveys by several critics and institutions worldwide, I cannot list them down here because I have not watch them yet thus cannot share the experience, so I will stick to the movies I already watched :-D Here are my favorite 20 films I a

13 Years of Roswell fascination

Felt drowsy..tired and motionless..oh God my eyes are about to fall...and it's only 10 in the morning!!! Not sure what triggers this boredom. Is it the sleepless nights or the thoughts of what's coming ahead? Since gaining a complete freedom of doing-what-I wanted-to-do sort of thing after passing the comprehensive exam in my masteral, I spent every night watching series and movies on DVD. My obsession at the moment is tripping down memory lane with  Legend of the Seeker and Roswell.  Sounds pretty crazy but all I did each night is re-watched each episode of the series. I became addicted with Roswell in 2000 when I grew tired with the uninspiring storyline of soap operas in local TV, so I switched channels to look for some exciting shows until I landed on Roswell. Unfortunately, I only watched the two seasons because I went home to Surigao in the last part of 2002 in fact I did not finish the whole season 2. So I had this very remorseful feeling of not being able to ca

The Hobbit and its uninteresting journey

I am literally drawn with Legend of the Seeker!:-P For the past two weeks I did not watch anything, not even television shows, other than Legend of the Seeker on DVD. This series was cancelled in 2010 after two seasons and 46 episodes so it's a bit frustrating. I am surprised why it was discontinued when it generated millions of followers around the world and  lots of fans were begging for the renewal of the series! But still I am not losing hope, I am confident one day, Legend will be resurrected if not on television maybe on the big screen!! I loved each character the fantasy, the magic, the wizardry stuff, the rolling hills of New Zealand where the series was shot, the scenic valleys and wild forest and yes the love story of Richard and Kahlan. Zed and Cara were equally wonderful and the boy listener was so incredibly great and talented, I truly adored that boy! Haaaay!Whenever I am into something I threw my attention into it as if it is the most precious thing in t

Legend of the Seeker

Promotional Poster of Legend of the Seeker My mind is at peace now, thank God! I passed my comprehensive exam and filed an application for graduation last April 8.  Now, I am sorting things out, contemplating, pondering with my fate, mapping plans, making up my mind where to go after graduation. I am eager to explore the world and ready to give up my comfort zone to take more challenging things in life. After the toxic weeks of taking comprehensive exam, finally I can rest my tired brain and body with nothing to think about except where to go this summer hehe! Last April 9 (since it was a holiday), I checked my DVD collection and noticed the first season of the Legend of the Seeker . This is quite funny  because I had this DVD two years ago but had no time to watch it. So after taking my lunch, I immediately pulled my laptop and started my series marathon :-D Legend of the Seeker is a fantasy adventure genre and loosely based on the Sword of Truth book written by T

The Story of Us

Image
Memorable quote from "The Sto ry of Us "   "There are some hurts that you never completely gotten over. And you think that time will diminish their presence and to a degree it does, but it still hurts because well, hurt hurts " Had a chance to watch this film two nights ago and I'm quite pleased with its plot. It is a 1999 film and just like most of the movies in the 90s, The Story of Us tackles relationship, separation and dealing with couple's differences.  I am not really into this kind of film, I hate being lectured with separation and divorce issues, we have so much on it in the surroundings, and I disliked couples who don't honor their marriage vows, and that is something I never look forward to in a film. I loathed couples who are infidel, who betray each other through extra marital affairs, that's why I extremely detested films that tell the story of a mistress! But The Story of Us is quite different and for unknown re

Movie Marathon Part II

BREAKING DAWN, Part II Finally, I was able to watch the finale of the Twilight saga --- Breaking Dawn part II , last November 17, Saturday at the cinema. In fairness, the last part of Breaking Dawn is quite interesting, lots of action and vampire things, there was a fair balance of excitement, action, surprises and humor, and for the first time I saw the other side of Kristen Stewart's acting talent (finally she showed some degree of facial expression!), she was a revelation in this last Twilight installment. Surprisingly (hehe) I was not bored with the film unlike the other three series (New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn part I) where I almost fell asleep in the theater. Michael Sheen who played Aro, the head of the Volturi pack, brought life to the story, as always he lived to high expectations of credible acting skill when it comes to playing Vampire, the same impression I had on him in the movie "Underworld" . He knew how to interpret a creepy, anci

Movie Marathon Part I

I missed my days in the graduate school, yeah! No more case analysis, reports to make, so my weekend is quite comfortable and relax. So now, I have enough time to work on other things I neglected since taking masteral --  watching movies on DVD, writing articles and book contents, studying French language and other stuff and last week, I did a movie marathon on historical films! I love this genre because at last I could watch the stories I only read in historical books. I am always fascinated with history on wars, ancient myths, medieval knights and kings and the ancient world in general. It seems there's something in there that I would want to learn more to find answers to my questions about life's mystery, about so many things, it's like traveling to another time. One of my favorites is the Trojan War.  It tells the saga of the Greek gods, its myths and tragedies. Trojan War spurred interest across generations due to some interesting characters in the story whic

Pure Love

Image
Where in the heck of the universe can we find pure love? Does it still exist? Lately, I became hooked with this new Korean soap opera aired at the Kapamilya network entitled Pure Love (its original title is  49 days ) . The plot is unique, far from the worn-out and boring telenovelas shown in Philippine televisions with its irritating forte  of rehashing old movies and soap operas. With Pure Love, everything is different, my fascination towards drama is revitalized once again. It is a simple story about falling in love...about coping with the lost love...about finding a genuine affection...about friendship.  Pure Love narrates the story of a beautiful and wealthy girl named Ji Hyun (Dianne Shin in Philippine version) whose almost-perfect life was shattered when she gets into a car accident leaving her body in a coma, it seemed she lived a life of perfection: lots of money, a company to inherit and a guy-next-door boyfriend she is about to marry. She was unaware with the

Meaningful Movie Quotes

While thinking what to post in my online journal today (Dec.23, 2010), I rolled my eyes above my closet to search for some ideas and...puff! My gaze darted on the diary I kept for sometime which I put between my photo albums, curious what I wrote several months ago, I stood up and pulled the book and Oh Ow!While flipping the pages, my eyes glared on the entries I made last December 2009 and... ...and the rest is history ^________^ To make it lighter and less slushy, I search for some stage play, movie,TV series quotes that would describe each entry. From the movie THE STORY OF US :"There are some hurts that you never completely get over. And you think that time will diminish their presence and to a degree it does, but it still hurts because well, hurt hurts" How it relates : The reality of hurt itself...the idea of being hurt. So what now?  Well, loving someone would not just fade overnight, it takes sometime to get over from it especially
