Christmas lights bring warm memories

Image
It's 12 DAYS before Christmas ! Hmmm sounds like a Christmas song with the same title hehe! But unlike in the song, I won't be making a countdown for each day until the 25th with the list of gifts because there's nothing to count, no turtle doves nor a partridge in a pear tree none even a French hen  ^_____^ Honestly, I am not expecting any tangible gifts this Christmas season. No one in my distant memory to ever think that would possibly transform into a generous santa , I am not suspecting anyone either hehe! I am also too grown up to deceive myself that the hanging-of-stocking-phenomenon is all true. The belief once I fancied on Jackson 5's Christmas hit " Santa Claus is Coming to Town " is already a quick-fading memory. Speaking of gifts, there's at least one person in my circle back then who never failed to give me a present during the holiday season , but now there's no more reason for him to be generous with me, I'm no longer part of

Boracay Escape!

Yessss finally I was able to fulfill another long-standing wish --- Boracay getaway!! God is so good!He provided me enough opportunities to make some of my dreams in life come true in just one year: finished my masteral degree in Ateneo, visited Hongkong and Macau and lately at the world-renowned tropical beach Boracay!! July 1, Monday I thought we could never visit Boracay because of the stormy weather, we arrived in Manila last June 29 and there was a heavy downpour. We originally planned to travel via ferry at the Batangas port but due to typhoon Gorio we did not push through. On Monday, July 1 the weather finally improved so we immediately checked the airfare of Zest Air, luckily, the airline offered promo ticket prices so we booked right away. July 2, Tuesday We arrived at the Kalibo International Airport at 2:00 pm, we did not take lunch because our flight was delayed, we're supposed to take off at 11:00 but we did not get on board until 12:15 noon and le

My First Travel Abroad!

Got a taste of real life adventure outside the country! :-D Back in my high school years, I often wondered what's on the other side of the continent, how people lived, what the environment looks like, the culture, the food, the lifestyle and the feeling of being in a completely different place. So I dreamed of going to another land, not necessarily to work, but to satisfy my curiosity and explore new learnings and experiences. Then one day, a good friend, Maribeth Galindo, coordinator of the social science division at UIC, told me to join their group for a leisure trip to Hongkong and Macau after summer break and because my passport will about to expire early next year with no single stamp yet from the immigration, I wasted no time and agreed. For the next three months, I became preoccupied with our itinerary plan, listing down everything I could think for this trip, I also did some research on different tourist spots around Hongkong and Macau and what public transp

Booked!!Hongkong Travel at last

Image
Yeah!!!Finally got a nerve to book a foreign trip online today and yaaay s o very lucky to get a low rate for this Hongkong trip! My eagerness to travel abroad this year is due to the fact that my passport will expire by 2014 and it's a great shame to renew it at DFA without a foreign embassy stamp hahaha! I've been praying hard for this trip and God finally allowed circumstances to intervene to make this desire realized soon. So now finally, yes finally! I can visit the gorgeous Hongkong comes June 1. It's super exciting. I'll be travelling with friends in the university and we'll be taking a round trip from Davao to Clark to Hongkong and vice versa. But as of now, I don't let my excitement overwhelmed me because I still have to face grueling days of taking comprehensive exams.

Travel Adventure

I rarely go out. I hate being in the crowd, ever since I was a teenager, I don’t like hanging around with friends, I fretted their noise, their nonsense talks. Back then, I would hide in my parents’ room every time they would come to our house. When I attended college and lived in the city for good, my attitude towards “hanging-out” did not change. I would still prefer to stay at home rather than go out. I considered disco and bar houses as nastiest places on earth. I detested girls who are loud, who compulsively drink and smoke, who enjoyed night life, who had an unthinkable lifestyle, I often think they are bad influence and hanging around with them would not get me anywhere. Going elsewhere with people I am not comfortable with, bores me to death and wandering around is not my idea of living life to the fullest. Oh well, maybe I was not born with itchy feet. Even today, except for making grocery and other errands, I seldom go to the malls. It's maddening
