My ultimate crush is marrying! :-P Irresistible. Smart. Intelligent. Blindingly handsome with stunning soulful eyes. Who would not be smitten with Direk Lino Cayetano? Nakks! The gorgeous TV director will be “out of the market” soon. He is set to marry his girlfriend for just 3 months, former volleyball player of Ateneo Lady Eagles at UAAP, Fille Cainglet, 13 years his junior. Pope Francis is TIME's 2013 Person of the Year

Image
For several decades now, TIME, one of the world's most prestigious magazines, is annually honoring individuals from diverse cultural background, group or even idea and object, that has done the most to enormously influence the world in a year. It has some shares of controversies though. In 1982 the public, and even the whole world, expected STEVE JOBS of Apple to be named Person of the Year due to his revolutionary innovation on personal computing but the magazine named "COMPUTER" as the winner instead, and in 1936 when a commoner woman, Wallis Simpson, whom the British royal family extremely detested, won the accolade. Simpson, who was never fully accepted by the royal family during her lifetime and was never granted an official style of Her Royal Highness (eventhough she legally married the Duke of Windsor), stirred the mystical world of British monarchy and created an almost constitutional crisis when she formed a romantic relationship with King Edwar

Iran claimed victory at the 27th FIBA Asia Championship

Image
Gilas Pilipinas failed to win the most coveted crown of the 27th FIBA Asia Championship last night, August 11. 2013, they settled for Silver but without the gold accolade, the Philippine team is still a winner, garnering the top 2 spot in the international sport competition especially with the presence of tough players is not an easy task. Congratulations national team players for making every Filipino very proud with your strong determination, energy, skill and effort! You are winners in every way and to all of us who rooted for you. Despite the defeat, Gilas Pilipinas team and all the Filipinos have many reasons to celebrate, aside from garnering the top 2 spot (silver medal is still a win and it's not easy to reach the final 3), the national team is now qualified to play in the FIBA World Cup to be held in Madrid, Spain next year, 2014. A very rare opportunity for Filipino basketball players. The last time that the Philippine basketball team participated in this tournament

Gilas Pilipinas defeated South Korea in FIBA Asia semi-finals

Image
The curse had been lifted!!! So they say ^______^ After so many years of being unsuccessful in the FIBA Asia Championship round, the Philippine National Team finally made it! Wohohoho congratulations!! Gilas Pilipinas, the official name of the national team, defeated South Korea posting a 7-point lead on the final buzzer, 86-79. The national team’s victory brought back the Philippines into the basketball limelight in Asia and came after two decades of drought in the world basketball inclusion. The victory was not an easy one because the Korean basketball players performed well and they were great and tough but the spirit of unity, love and support among Filipinos, especially those who came in the MOA Arena, together with prayers and the team’s energy, coordination and determination, made everything possible. It was a tough road to victory and at the same time very significant and heartwarming because according to Miko Halili and coach Richard Del Rosario, commentator

Goodbye Sir Rene Deypalubos, I'll be missing you so much :-(

How would you know when death is coming? When that day would be your final journey in this world? No one knows. Not even the most gifted psychic we have around. For death comes like a thief in the night, most often without warnings. It never measures one’s physical strength and weakness. It has its own pace, own timetable.  We can never tell what life awaits us in the future, even if we carefully plan it, who will come to us and gone from us but one thing is very certain, we all have to die. It's everyone's destiny, nobody can escape it. But why it comes as a surprise when it finally happens? The emotion that flows seems impossible to imagine. Sad. Remorseful. Tormenting. But do we have the right to ask God why? My immediate boss in the university from 1998-2001 and 2006-2010 Engr. Reynaldo Deypalubos. A truly inspiring and amazing man. Sir Rene was full of life, very vibrant, active, physically fit  and with an incredible sense of humour. L

Campaigning for Bam Aquino

Image
Entry to Politics Campaigning for Bam Aquino, not because of his illustrious family name, but because I believe he can contribute something remarkable in the senate. His passion in the social service would be his best advantage. Bam is a multi-awarded social entrepreneur. He was named Asian Social Entrepreneur of the Year and Young Global Leader  in 2010 by the World Economics Forum, and also named one of the     Ten Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) in the Philippines . He is no stranger to policy-making being the youngest chairperson of the National Youth Commission in the Philippines in 2003. Paolo Benigno "Bam" Aquino IV. He will be a breath of fresh air in the Philippine senate. An active youth leader and multi-awarded social entrepreneur, Bam Aquino champions financial advocacy and had been in the social service since he graduated Summa Cumlaude at Ateneo de Manila University in 1999 (BS Management Engineering). He co-founded MultiVentures Incorporated in 2006 wh

My Favorite (living) Men

Image
I like men who are tough and smart, who are not easily intimidated, who can carry a sensible conversation  and can talk anything under the sun, not so much like a knight-in-a-shining-armour stuff but someone who is remarkably polite, courteous, independent, loyal, focus and determined and with a compassionate heart. And there are only few people (whose existence is very transparent to all of us) in the world who got these characteristics. Here are some of my favourite (living) men in the world: HRH Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh The man behind the strength of the British Queen. The Prince, who is royal by birth (Prince of Greece and Denmark before his marriage to Queen Elizabeth II in 1947), has been known in the royal circle as a tough-minded, independent and very outspoken person. Privately, he is considered as Her Majesty's rock and  a  loyal companion, devoted to his role as a Prince Consort. He is the most influential male royal in the British monarchy and t

Email this to a friend A day after the world received the devastating news of Steve Jobs's death, I am still reeling in shock.. Heaven! I still cannot believe he's gone now. For all the fantastic years he astonished the world with his magical innovations, this is totally upsetting. I admire remarkable individuals like they are immortals as if death would not come to them. When I adore people, I always see to it that they are worthy to be admired. I always put my heart into them, learned lessons from them and followed the fantastic story of their lives because I am hoping I could learn something from them. In my existence, there were/are only few people I greatly admired, people who left distinguished mark into the world's consciousness: Ninoy Aquino, Pope John Paul II, Diana Princess of Wales, Mother Theresa, Steve Jobs, Warren Buffet, Stephen Hawking, Mark Zuckerberg and Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh . When Princess Diana died in 1997, it felt like
