Centennial Celebration of Institucion Teresiana

I seldom attend “anticipated mass for Sunday” (Saturday afternoon mass, normally beyond 5pm) because I am completely aware that anticipated mass is only for people who cannot really make it on Sunday due to illness or very important commitment. But yesterday, I tried breaking the rule because I am afraid I couldn’t make it today as I have so many assignments and reports to prepare...hmmm maybe this is a valid reason..hehe I arrived early, around 4:45pm so I just looked around and seated quietly in the front pew. It was brown out and the humid environment gave me discomfort and mosquitos seemed roaring around my feet. But it was a great one and felt like my heart was bursting! The mass marked the centennial celebration of Institucion Teresiana , an international religious association. Archbishop Fernando Capalla celebrated the mass with some DCD priests and members of the Jesuit Community, Fr. Samson (the outgoing President of Ateneo de Davao ) was there with Fr. Miley and F

Most Corrupt People in the World

We'd an Anti-Corruption Sensitivity Seminar-Workshop in one of my classes in the grad school and oh boy! Two out of ten most corrupt people in the world are Filipinos. Wow, even the most disgusting Top Ten List, Filipinos never missed to be included! Thank God Philippines had Cory and Ninoy who partly save the country's distressing image in the world affairs. In 2010 December, they were named by TIME magazine as two of 100 PEOPLE WHO SHAPED and INFLUENCED THE 20th Century. The only Filipinos who managed to be included in the TIME listing. Back to the most corrupt, here is the complete list: World's Ten Most Corrupt Leaders Name Position Funds embezzled 2 1. Mohamed Suharto President of Indonesia (1967–1998) $15–35 billion 2. Ferdinand Marcos President of the Philippines (1972–1986) 5–10 billion 3. Mobutu Sese Seko President of Zaire (1965–1997) 5 billion 4. Sani Abacha President of Nigeria (1993–1998)

People I would Love to Meet

If given a chance to meet world figures, I would choose them. Pope Benedict XVI When Pope John Paul II was still alive, not a day goes passed without wishing I could see him in person, until he died in 2005, that “chance” did not happen at all. Now, I am begging God once again to let me see the current Roman Pontiff. As a devoted Roman Catholic all my life (my family had long been serving the Catholic Church before I was born), nothing is more fulfilling than seeing the Vicar of Christ in person. Of course one of my earnest wishes in life is to visit Vatican City . Stephen Hawking He is often called as the last living genius, in the tradition of Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton and Michael Faraday, that is in the world today. Hawking is a British Theoritical Physicist, Mathematician, Philosopher and professor, he published many theories, scientific researches and books, two of his famous works are The Brief History of Time and The Briefer History of Time. He teaches at Cambr

Microsoft Tale

Funny!!!but this topic became our "dessert" last night in our Marketing Managemet class in the graduate school. After I presented my journal critique about Marketing Myopia (famous work of Harvard business professor, Theodore Levitt), my Korean classmate took over the floor to do the chapter highlight report and we were amazed with his awesome presentation.  He showed some videos related to " Product Development" topic including separate interviews of three world's most successful businessmen, Steve Jobs (Apple Incorporated founder),Warren Buffet (Berkshire Hathaway) and Bill Gates (Microsoft). Interestingly, these three companies topped the list of Fortune magazine's World's Most Admired Companies. Warren Buffet and Bill Gates, third and second richest men in the world Unlike the video interview of Steve Jobs where he talked about hardcore business topics and the mode of discussions were very serious, the one with Warren Buffet and Bill

Created Another Blog

I created another blog again! This time it's about wedding preparations, how to handle the planning and organizing without resorting to professional planners and organizers. In 2006, I started writing a wedding script, silly as it was, but I was confident I could take a trip down-the-aisle before the year of the metal tiger arrive. But as what other fairytale stuff would have it, destiny decreed otherwise.... So before I would trash my wedding script, I decided to post it to share what I learned from the experts. Well, the idea of planning itself is fascinating, it allows creativity to explore the wonders of daydreaming. Most often than not, I maximized this gift. Well, I often treated this as a gift. To be able to write something unique, much more a wedding idea journal, is always a fantastic gift from God. Now I will make use with this gift....rather than spend every minute of my life in remorse and frustration why everything turns out badly with my fate (where I am carefully p

The Year of the Metal Rabbit

Happy New Year! Contrary to what I had plan earlier, I didn't return home because I've so many school task to do: case analysis, journal critiques and endless class reports. While I spent Christmas alone in my boarding house, I was able to spend New Year with my good friends who welcomed me in their house with open arms, they preferred terrific foods and we spent the whole evening in talking. I am very optimistic I could accomplish priorities this year, I am confident God will grant all my request this year, if not all, then some of it. I hope I am more lucky in the year of the metal rabbit.

Favorite Quotes

It's the end of the year so I am a little bit mushy " We don't stop loving someone, we simply learn to live without them" A powerful quote indeed. Loving someone does not end in forgetfulness--even if you want too. It feels like it takes forever to discard it from your system especially if it's genuine. It's a hell of a torture. But you must endure it, no matter how difficult., you must simply learn to live without him.. Hearing him fall in love with someone new-- -again --- is somewhat disconcerting...but that's life...and there's nothing I can do about it anymore... nothing. SOME OF MY FAVORITE QUOTES: "If you find yourself in love with a person who does not love you, be gentle with yourself. There is nothing wrong with you. Love just didn't choose to rest in the other person's heart" "Sometimes you think you've gotten over a person, but when you see him smile you suddenly realize you're j
