CREPELATO: PART I

Image
What could be more refreshing than combining Crepe and Gelato? A perfect mouthwatering dessert! Non-fattening concoction. Crepe plus Gelato with cereals and other toppings drizzled with fruit syrup and whipping cream. This one plate costs P100.00 Gorging this unique Italian-style concoction is such a fantastic way to combat stress! So last night I had a great Crepelato moment with Kathy at NCCC mall branch. After our dinner---Mongolian Barbeque + Rice and Longanisa + Rice (also at Crepelato)---we moved to a couch and relaxed with one plate and another plate of Crepelato! I originally wanted Almond Banana Split topping but it was not available so I picked the mango float mixture and it tastes wonderful, I mean the ice cream is so different from the ordinary ice cream I tasted. Gelato is such a natural cooler, not sugary nor too creamy, and it is not easily melt even if you take it leisurely while busy talking to friends. Such a yummy dessert! The crepe float I and Kath

Happy Christening Daniela!

Image
I love this name, Daniela, because it reminds me of one Latin teleserye way back in 2005 I devotedly followed,  Daniela , starring the very pretty Colombian actress, Litzy. And yesterday, I became one of the godmothers of Daniela!^_____^ Welcome to the Christian world, Daniela! She is the second child and first daughter of Helen’s sister, Emma Monte, and I found her super cute and behave! I rarely noticed behave and quiet kids nowadays but Daniela, at one month and nine days, was so behaved during the baptism ceremony, she never squirmed nor wailed, she just slept all through out. She is one of my godchildren with a mother who is close to me. I’ve known Emma since her college days and Helen is one of my best friends in life, a kind of friend whom I can truly trust, confiding all my secrets, hehehe! It was my second time to be at St. Mary’s Church in Buhangin for a christening, in December 2009, I went there for the christening of Ameira Breanne Faustino where I stood as one her go

Happy Weekend!

This sounds strange, but since reading the poll result of Happy Planet Index which named Philippines as the 14 th happiest nation in the world in terms of life satisfaction, life expectancy and environmental footprints, it feels like there’s something to celebrate of being a Filipino. Oh yes, despite the nail-biting economic crisis, political turmoil, flood and insurgencies in the country, the never ending anxiety of what’s-coming-ahead and some hidden disappointments, my happy disposition remains unaffected, most of the time, my life seems happier and exciting and more fascinating everyday, yaaay!  (expression I got from Bianca Gonzales, hehe). I mean why focus on things I cannot control when there is one side of life which offers great promises for a brighter day?   Hmmm..okay, so what made my weekend Happy? --Well, today is my parents' wedding anniversary . I always remember this very important day of my parents’ union since I was 9 years old. My mother once said I

Don Beppe

Image
Last Wednesday night, I and Kathy had another pasta adventure at Don Beppe, an Italian resto  along Bonifacio street (walking distance from UIC), and ahem, we were impressed with the table arrangement (fine dining mode) and the very relaxing ambience of the place. We chose to sit in a four-seater table (there's no table-for-two available) and navigated the menu book. Hmmm...and I was silent for the next 10 seconds because the foods were so expensive, ranging from 200 to 500 pesos.yaaay! Penne Arrabiata. For people who detested the combination of tomato and chili stuff in pasta, this is not a good choice. One order costs P225.00 Puttanisca, Pizza and Penne Puttanisca So I ordered the cheapest pasta in the menu, Penne Arrabiata. I love Penne more when it is drizzled with white sauce but this recipe is somewhat strange because I didn't understand the taste.haha! When we got our orders, oh my!One plate is good for four people, darn...so I texted our friend

First day of June!

Finally it's June. Another school year. How time flew so fast! But I love it because it brings so many advantages in life, never mind the age, I want to age gracefully.lol! This Saturday I and a classmate will be going to AdDu for the enrolment, my God!I just realized that I am now in my second year in MBA. It feels like only yesterday that I was deeply troubled whether to attend the graduate school or not. Well, I enjoyed my last two semesters, I was able to meet new friends, new people, I learned new things in life. I was able to build dreams again for myself and regained my self-confidence.  But then there are still worries that cannot be erased by time and overflowing self-confidence, like..uhmm...worries of what's-coming-ahead now that my life is still swinging back and forth. Yesterday, I searched topics for effective antioxidant supplements because I wanted to replace the current supplements I am taking, but I was surprised to find out that I got the right su

Annie Pie

Image
Why I love to eat lots of foods lately? (but I am not gaining weight, haha!)Am I hiding something in my system?Hmmm...emptiness, perhaps?haaay, but I just want to eat and eat and eat and unwind and surf the net hehehe. After Lachi's adventure last Friday, yesterday afternoon, I and Kathy went to another Cafe, geeeez! This time to AnniePie, originally I wanted to go back to Cafe Demitasse to eat their soooo yummy creamy Carbonara and the unique Belgian fries but Kathy told me to try AnniePie's carbonara so we ended up going to Malvar. And ordered Carbonara and Tiramisu!hehehehehe... Well the pasta used this time is Fettuccine...I adored carbonara more if it is made from fettuccine and rich creamy white sauce (with Garlic bread perhaps)...and so we devoured one plate of creamy carbonara, though it was great, I loved Demitasse's carbo more...we were discussing business while eating but we never talked about life's clutters because I didn't want to spoil m

Panti Experience and Blueberry cheesecake

Image
Okay, the past week was not all cheery, there were days that I was annoyed with useless things not worthy in the end, oh well that's life, but towards the end of the week I had lots of laughter and well...amusement... My hunger pangs started kicking on Wednesday and so many foods appeared in my mind..hahaha!I shared this "food longing" to my friend Kathy...so we decided and agreed to go to Lachi's on Friday. Yessss finally Friday arrived...and by 5:40 pm we were sitting comfortably at Lachi's, actually it was my first time to be there (along Marfori Heights, just a few walk effort from Nanay Bebings). This is just a very small place, about eight tables only, but it is always filled with lots of customers that you must call for a reservation ahead of time. The foods are great! Blueberry Cheesecake!yummyyyy The smaller version of BlueBerry cheesecake that Kathy chose to order.hehehe I ordered Oriental Chicken with Rice because I am not comfo
